D8602 fiber channel card issues on netserver??
Got an LP Netserver 1000r that I am trying to connect to a VA7400 to act as a configuration station. Have a D8602 fiber channel card going to the device and HP Storage Works Commandview SDM loaded on the system. Command can't see the devices, but I can see them in computer management under PCI bus as "Agilent HHBA-510x PCI Fiber Channel Controller" and bunch of HP A6218A SCSI Disk Devices. Can also see them under Disk Drives with the same description. Command View just has as Status of: ????
Any thoughts???

Re: D8602 fiber channel card issues on netserver??
- does armdiscover work and finds the array ?
- is the hostmode set to Windows on the va7400 controllers ?
- is this direct connected ?

Re: D8602 fiber channel card issues on netserver??
The NetServer will only see the VA if there is at least one existing LUN on the VA. Use the serial connection and the command line interface to create a small LUN for admin purposes only. Let Windows initialize the LUN once it finds it, do not create any partition or land a filesystem on it. Make other LUN's for that, using CommandView this time.
