LH3000 Upgrade

Hi all!
I want to make upgrade of a LH3000 server - add secondary disk cage and 6 HDD's.
I found that i must install D9158A-Cage upgrade kit and D8551A-Power supply upgrade kit.
My question is what is included in that kits?
Need I additional cabel kit to connect cage?
Is power fans included in power upgrade kit?
Need I additional power module if i want to have power rudundanci and what is P/N of it(if power fans are included in power upgrade kit)?

Thank You in advance!

Re: LH3000 Upgrade

D9158A contains:

o hot-swap mass storage cage with filler panels
o screws to mount it
o SCSI cable to connect the hot-swap cage
o Mass Storage Upgrade Guide

D8551A contains:

o power supply module
o power supply fan module
o power cord for power supplies 3 and 4
o Power Supply Upgrade Guide

You don't need any additional cable nor another power module. In LH3000 the third one provides redundancy and the fourth is not used.

Re: LH3000 Upgrade

P.S.

Are You shure it will work on 2 Power supplyes with 12 HDDs?

Re: LH3000 Upgrade

According to documentation - yes, but every customer I know (I mean those who fully loaded their LH3000s) also use the third power module, just to be on the safe side :-)

Re: LH3000 Upgrade

Yes, the LH3000 will work with its standard two power supplies when "fully loaded".
For power load balancing and fault tolerance the optional 3rd (or 4th) power supply is recommended. It is part number D8551A.
Note: With 3 power supplies, there will now be two power cords.
