LXr Pro Server WS2003 hangs w/ disk i/o error 0000E008

We are trying to upgrade our LXr Pro box to either Server Win2000 or Win2003 but keeps getting hang w/ Disk I/O Error status=0000E008.
Check with HP link on Drivers and software, only available for WS2000 Server system management (Toptools 5.6). Have anybody upgraded an LXr Pro box . thanks for any help.

HP does not support Windows 2003 (any version) on the HP Netservers. Windows 2000 Server is supported, but not on the older NetRAID and NetRAID-1 controllers. Are the drives attached to the integrated SCSI controller, or is there a NetRAID card?

Thanks for the response. Server contains 2x D4943A (Netraid Adapter) attached externally to 4 x Rackstorage/8 (D4902A) with 8 x 9.1GB (D6019A) Disk.

The NetRAID card you have is one of the older NetRAID controllers, and is not supported & not compatible with Windows 2000. If you want to check out what other users have experienced with the older NetRAID & 2000 or 2003, I would suggest using the advanced ITRC search function. This would hopefully give you enough information to decide if you might be able to resolve issues...or not.

Can you recommended a supported controller that will have at least 2 external port to provide connection to 2 RS/8 storage box.

The NetRAID card supported on this Netserver and supported under Windows 2000 would be the NetRAID-1Si or NetRAID-3Si. The 1Si has one channel, the 3Si has 3.
Part numbers:

D5955A: NetRAID-3Si card. There are 3 external ports on this card.

D2140A: NetRAId-1Si: only one external port.

The external ports on both cards are VHD (very high density), so you will need the appropriate external SCSI cable go to from VHD to HD.
