OfficeJet L7680 - print quality breaking up

HI - I have had this printer for ages - over ten years - and it has always been really good so i'm hoping it's not dying.

The print quality is brkeaing up - ink is missing on some lines and the upper or lower half of other lines. I have an idea that this means I need new print heads, but I am not sure.

The machine recently had new ink cartridges so it's not that.

No software issues that I can see - this is definitely a hardward problem.
