lh6000 u3, update hdd firmware

Hello!

I have lh6000 u3 with HP ;) (really seagate)
36Gb drives with firmware HP03.
I found info that upgrade to HP04 is recommended.
I downloaded firmware, software, catalog file for AMI array - I use buit-in raid controller.
But I don't see drives in software!
What I doing wrong?

Hi,

The drivers will be available on NetServer Navigator CD. Boot with that and see.Otherwise you can get the help of the same CD for completing the installation of any OS.

Good luck,
AR
If i am doing the same way you are doing to me then what is the difference between us.

Sorry, I'm talking about firmware
upgrade in hdd drives, not about drivers.

Re: lh6000 u3, update hdd firmware

If HDD firmware upgrade does not work with onboard raid controller for any reason you can use "non raid mode" of onboard controller to to the job. Go to server setup (F2) select LVD mode for onboard controller instead of NetRaid. Onboard controller will act as Symbios SCSI controller. Do the upgrade (if works) and change back to netraid mode. If it does not work check again you upgrade utility and catalog file.

Dmitry,

Did you expand the catalog.exe file to catalog.dat?
Make sure you select the correct SCSI channel from the bootmenu (Netraid, channel 0 probably).

Marco.
