HP DL100 (NAS 1500s) SR 7.1 Installation

Hello there.

I recently purchased two used HP DL100s. I have got them up to Service Release 6.90 by doing the following:

-Use quick restore DVD to bring back to factory defaults

-Install SR 5.6

-Use windows installer kit to install W2k3 SP2

-Install SR 6.2

-Install SR 6.4

-Install SR 6.6

-Install SR 6.9

All has completed successfully, however now when trying to run SR 7.1 I get "HP Storage System Updates not found at requested location. Please try again".

I have checked MD5 and re-downloaded to no-avail. Have also tried uninstalling HP SR wizard and reinstalling.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Eyeevan,

Have not found a fix unfortunately, I tried quite a few things too.

I've also come across another problem with the OS partition being too small, it is not possible to install all the security updates without running out of free space.

I hope that manafacturers realise they must create bigger OS partitions on server systems in anticipation for (in some cases) 10 years worth of security updates, 9GB is nowhere near enough (after you consider, during installation of a service release, three times as much space may be needed for the actual file, temporary/extraction, and freespace calculation).

Though that can be remedied with 3rd party programs (eek), I would still like to know if there are any ways to install SR7.1 :)

-Install SR 5.6 is inkl. SP1

-Rebranding to DL100

-NOT Use windows installer kit to install W2k3 SP2

-NOT Install SR 6.2

-Install SR 6.4 is inkl. SP2

-Install SR 6.6

-Install SR 6.9

run SR 7.1 I get "HP Storage System Updates not found at requested location. Please try again".

Edit an XML file from 6.9 to the root of 7.1>

  <version value="8.3" revision="A" type_of_change="0" />

Error ist still happen..

Anyone have any ideas?
