Is the x1600 NAS upgradeable to Storage Server 2012?

Would love to be able to upgrade our HP NAS x1600 to Storage Server 2012 but haven't yet found any indication of it being possible (yet) although I've found info relating to an x1800 upgrade path so I haven't given up hope just yet.

Anyone know if it's possible?

Regards,

Paul

Re: Is the x1600 NAS upgradeable to Storage Server 2012?

Hi,

As of now the upgrade is available only for the below models of NAS Server.

тАв HP X1800 G2 Network Storage System (HP ProLiant DL380
G7 server)
тАв HP X3800 G2 Network Storage Gateway (HP ProLiant
DL380 G7 server)
тАв HP X3800sb Network Storage System (HP ProLiant BL460c
G7 server)

So X1600 does not have an OS upgrade option as of now.

I work for HP.

I confirm that :

I want to add just some informations about that :

Here is a link for supported upgrade :

http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/za/en/sm/WF0813c/18964-18964-304618-18964-18964-304618-1814793-1814793-3983738.html

The upgrade is a for-fee upgrade so it is not freely downloadable.  It is purchased via the reseller or other means and it comes with a media kit containing instructions, DVD, and Windows Storage Server 2012 COA sticker to affix to the system

Dear Mouid,

As you said x1600 dont have upgrade from HP, is it possible us to upgrade manually using Windows Server 2012 R2 source.?

I realized when tried through USB installation, that I can't format the pre-installed OS partition for to prepare new installation. Once 60GB is visible to HDD where its total of 145GB SAS HDD.

Please advice the possible way and ideas.

Thank you

Shamil
