Problem with NAS1500s 1TB: not booting
i have got a NAS1500s in a rack with IP-Switch which doesn't boot.
I turn on the NAS but i only see the HP-Screen where you have the options
ESC, F2,....
The machine doesn't react in any kind of way.
It has got 4 HD and each one is 250GB.
Can someone help me?
Thanks and greetings,
Alex

Re: Problem with NAS1500s 1TB: not booting
Have you tried reseating all of your hdds or booting the system with no hdds installed and see if the NAS can complete post? First try to reseat your hdds and see if there is any change. If no change, pull all hdds and see if you can complete post to no os found.
Are you able to enter the bios of the system or the controller?

How can i reset the HDDs? Via Software?

I already pulled out the HDDs but there is no change in the way of the NAS.

No. Nothing. It worked once - on monday - but
today it had no reaction. We changed the HDDs to see a change, but no chance.
I then changed to I/O-Connection. The NAS was in a rack with KVM-IP-Switch. I pulled it out and used as a stand alone with a mouse, keyboard and monitor. But still then it didn't make any difference...
The only thing what came was a long and not ending high sound "beeeeep".
Now i don't know what to do.
Kind Regards,
Alex

Re: Problem with NAS1500s 1TB: not booting
Try to have just a stand alone keyboard, mouse and monitor to the system. Can you enter Ctrl-A on post for the adaptec SATA 2410 array controller? If its a new system, possibly something is loose internally from shipping, try to reseat the daughter boards, cpu and memory and see if that changes your symptoms. I don't have a 1500s to look at right now, but there should be an option to clear CMOS on that system board either with a switch or jumper, I would try that next.
hth,
Greg

Re: Problem with NAS1500s 1TB: not booting
thanks for your advice. But i already tried that and it doesn't work.
It seems that the NAS could be not working properly. The machine does not react when i try to press ESC oder CTRL-A or so.
The thing is: i want to know what it could be that the NAS has hung up... Wheather it is the system board or something else...

Re: Problem with NAS1500s 1TB: not booting
thanks for all of your help and advices. It seems that the motherboard was corrupt and that is the reason why it did not react.
Greetings,
Alexander :-)
