SNMP-Agents for HP NAS9000s ?
Good morning,
we have 2 NAS9000s-Systems running in a clustered environment. The operating system is Windows Storage Server 2003.
What do we have to do to get the SNMP-agents running on these systems ? Is there a "special" version of the SmartStart-CD (version 7.20 ??) or do we need an other software-package ??
Your help is really needed !!!!
Thanks very much !
Hubert

Re: SNMP-Agents for HP NAS9000s ?
Hi Hubert,
The SNMP agents are enabled and the Insight Management Agents are preinstalled by default on the NAS9000s servers.
You can update the Trap destinations, community names, etc. a few different ways. The easiest way is by going in the WebUI --> choose "Network" --> "SNMP Settings"
The NAS9000s servers also use the same SmartStart CDs as the standard Proliant servers, so there is no special NAS specific SmartStart CD.
For regular updates for your NAS, however, I would recommend going to http://software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductsList.do?category=NAS and ordering the latest Service Release. In this case, it is SR 5.4. The order is free as well as the shipping and usually arrives in a couple days depending on your location. These Service releases contain important security and system hotfixes that are related to the NAS servers, as well as updated drivers for HBAs and such.
