new drives

Hi folks,

I have an old Storageworks 60 array that I need to repopulate with new drives .....   So I need a dozen ..... ?  What?

I orginally had 12 Seagate ST3300655SS in it but I'd like to go with something more like a 1 TB instead of 300 GB.

Supposedly the array can support:

-   Supports HP SAS single port and dual port 3G SAS disk drives, (72 GB, 146 GB, 300 GB & 450 GB 15K & 400 GB 10K capacities) and 6G DP SAS disk drives (300GB, 450GB & 600GB 15K capacities)

-  Ability to support HP SAS dual port MDL (Midline) 6G disk drives (1 TB and 2 TB capacities)

-  Compatible with HP SATA 3G disk drives, (500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB capacities)

-  Maximum storage capacity of 7.2 TB (with twelve HP SAS 6G 600 GB hard drives) or 24 TB (with twelve HP SATA 3G 2 TB hard drives or 2 TB SAS MDL drives)

Would someone please list what model numbers of drives are avial now that I could use in the array now?

Thanks for the help!

Cheers'
Dave

This is a peer to peer forum, not an official HP support site.
Have you tried contacting the HPSC?

Re: new drives for MSA 60

Nope, they'll just tell me to buy "THAT" HP drive  ....... that's why I thought I'd ask other users out there.

It's pretty easy to get the HP approved party line ..... (grin)
