BL870 networking - APA

Hello,

I am new to blades.

Does this lan config look ok?

lan900 contains lan1 and lan2 for failover purposes.

It looks to me like lan0&1 are the same physical lan card and lan2&3 are the same physical card.

Therefore, lan900 should contain a port from each card for redundancy.

The reason I ask is our Windows team seems to use 2 ports from the same card for a failover setup. Being new to blades I am not 100% clear at what I am seeing.

Innterconnect Bay1 on the enclosure contains lan0&2. Innterconnect Bay2 on the enclosure contains lan1&3.

So does it makes since to use lan1&2 to create lan900? (versus lan0&1) Or does it matter?

If I understand you correctly, 0&1 are ports on the same LAN controller and similarly 2&3. You can tell that from the MAC address, the two ports on the same LAN controller have similar MAC addresses.

There are two separate LAN controllers each with two ports. So you should use one LAN port from each controller (just like you have it now) to avoid SPF of one of the controllers.
