CIFS file permission

Wen i mount a share , i can access it from a windows machine. So far its good. Can i change the attributes of the file like hidden, archive from the win machine. Wat is the general rule here, wat all the conditions its acceptable and where its not ?

I'm not exactly sure what your question is? Where is the server for the share?
The hidden and archive attributes are meaningless on HP-UX.

Then I seriously doubt these attributes can be changed, even on the Windows side.

Hi,
you can set read-only, but not hidden.

But, I don't know if I really undestood your question.
