Can a cifs share use nfs protocal at the same time
running on 11.31, contractor's are requesting
to share the same mount as a nfs share
can this be done, also I have a user defined
for this share, can someone help me on this..

Of course you can share out a directory via both CIFS and NFS but this may lead to locking issues. CIFS has its builtin locking system, so a file may appear locked completely to NFS of visa versa.
I think its a better Idea to stick to one way of sharing things.
This way files can be shared much more easilly.
UNIX has its ways of mounting a CIFS share through CIFSclient or Samba client.
Windows nowadays have its way of accessing an NFS share.
I think going through CIFS is most transparent if you want to share things out to both worlds.

I have not tried this before, using both
CIFS and NFS at the same time, I added
NFS to this share, its working,
and hopefully with no problems.
