Can not get networking on lan0

Hi all:

Got a 715/100 with HP-UX 11.0

Trying to get it on the network but no luck. It has a CentreCOM-210T twisted pair transceiver 10BASET (MAU) as the link between the system and the network cable. I have tested the cable on another system and it is good. I have gone through ifconfig and the return is it is RUNNING and UP. In lanadmin, the Operation Status says down(2). When I try to reset the lan I get the error:
expected primitive 0x06, got DL_ERROR_ACK
dl_error_primitive = 0xe8
dl_errno = 0x04
dl_unix_errno = 16
Unable to reset LAN Interface.

What is happening? The netconf file looks OK. The routing table looks OK. etc...

Re: Can not get networking on lan0

Rick

I have seen similar before when /etc/rc.config.d/hpbase100conf was set to 100 and the switch was unable to support this speed.

Just a thought

Re: Can not get networking on lan0

Rick, what does ioscan -fkC lan show? Is the card claimed?

Re: Can not get networking on lan0

The lan is claimed with the lan2 driver.

I have link on the transceiver.

Re: Can not get networking on lan0

How about a linkloop? Do you get the same error?

linkloop -i

#grep 16 /usr/include/sys/errno.h >>
#define EBUSY 16 /* Mount device busy

What is it attached to? A switch or hub that maybe running 100 Mbps?

Re: Can not get networking on lan0

It was 100 on the switch and 10 on the card.
