Can't ping localhost or 127.0.0.1, but from remote its OK
Hello,
I can reach the server remotly, also ping to the server (ip and hostname) works correct.
But on the local host I can't ping anything:
no localhost, not the own IP, ...
I reduce the nsswitch to:
hosts: files
In the hosts:
127.0.0.1 localhost loopback
1.2.3.4 hostname hostname.FQDN
...
# netstat -rn seems also OK, show the default router from the subnet, but (of course) also not pingable.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Re: Can't ping localhost or 127.0.0.1, but from remote its OK
Do you have ipfilter (HP product# B9901AA) installed?
If you have it, double-check all the rules related to ICMP protocol.
HP ipfilter documentation is available at:
