Changing IP on an rp7410 (HPUX 11.11)

Hi all,

I have an rp7410 running HP-UX 11.11 which I would like to change the server's IP.  It would seem to me that if I do this via the set_parms command then re-boot the machine, then I should be OK.  I mean changing it this way should update the /etc/hosts and /etc/rc.config.d/netconf files.

Does that sound just about right or am I missing something?

Thanks

Mauro

Hi Mauro,

that sound right for most servers. You may have a additional look on the following files, if they are available on your server:
smb.conf
serverkeys, that are created using the IP-number of the server
/etc/inittab
/etc/networks  # If you change the subnet, too
/etc/rc.config.d/netconf
/etc/rc.config.d/vlan*
/etc/bootptab
Any other applicationconfigurationfile
/var/statmon/sm*/*

Bye
Ralf
