DNS issue

Hi All,

Please provide a solution for below issue,
I would like to know what needs to be done to have the DNS vgsertest.au.ml.com point to erver dfrcms130.apa.ml.com

[rx260-04]/ nslookup vgsertest.au.ml.com
Server: rx260-04.apa.ml.com
Address: 143.94.10.116

*** rx260-04.apa.ml.com can't find vgsertest.au.ml.com: Non-existent host/domain

My application needs to connect to dfrcms130 using the DNS vgsertest.au.ml.com.

Re: DNS issue

Hi,

Register the host vgsertest.au.ml.com, with dns server rx260-04.apa.ml.com

Re: DNS issue

The DNS server is not aware about this host. Either add it to the DNS or the local hosts file.

Hope this helps!

Re: DNS issue

Hi Anoop,

In your name server 143.94.10.116 , you may need to add the below alias in DNS db files.

Path :- Most Probably /etc/named.d
File :- db.au.ml.com
Entry :-vgsertest IN CNAME dfrcms130.apa.ml.com.

Or you have to have alias entry in /etc/hosts
