Duplicate wwn?
I installed HPUX 11.23 and issued a fcmsutil /dev/fcd0,fcmsutil /dev/fcd1, /dev/fcd2 and fcmsutil /dev/fcd3 on each of the boxes.
The output of the fcmsutil command shows a result that i'm not expecting.
On each box 2 of the cards have the following wwnn 0x50060b0000000001 and the following wwpn 0x50060b0000000000,
that means i have now 6 times a wwnn of 0x50060b0000000001 and 6 time a wwpn of 0x50060b0000000000.
When the boxes are connected to a san with an EVA8000, i see the strange wwnn's apearing on the switch.
Is this normal behaviour? and if not what could be happening here?

Re: Duplicate wwn?
the "0000000000" part of the WWN makes me believe the command is just not able to fetch the WWN correctly.
So make sure your system has everything to support these combo cards:
1) firmware
2) latest HWE patches
3) check FC patches, update to latest drivers
Regards,
Bernhard

Re: Duplicate wwn?
Alternate possiillity: The WWN is wrong on the card. Its been known to happen rarely. If firmware doesn't do it, replacing the card might help.

Re: Duplicate wwn?
The installation manual stated that one should write down the wwn that was on the card.
I opened the box and tried to find the sticker that contained the wwn.
On all the cards with the strange wwn's there was no sticker with a wwn on the card, so i suspect that the strange wwnn and wwpn number are the default when the card is manufactored. I think HP just ommited to put a valid wwn on the card.
