FTP port 21 is not listening

Hi,
I have restarted the ftp service but now the port 21 is missing form netstat -an output.
I am unable to establish ftp session.
How to open the port or any other solution.

How have you restarted the ftp service? How did you determine that port 21 isn't listening?

Is the line for FTP still in /etc/inetd.conf?

"I am unable" is not a useful problem
description. It does not say what you did.
It does not say what happened when you did
it. As usual, showing actual commands with
their actual output can be more helpful than
vague descriptions and interpretations.

grep ftp /etc/inetd.conf

The issue is resolved.
