HP APA Configuration
I have a doubt about APA. what happend if I have two lancards with APA, and one lancard has a hardware fail, from IOSCAN the status to this card is NO_HW, but if I reboot the server this card is gone, but the APA teaming is not available.
Does anybody know if APA is able to start the teaming with one lancard missing??

APA is well explained in HP Auto Port Aggregation Administrator's Guide:

Re: HP APA Configuration
The answer is, that depends. It can almost degrade into a philosophical discussion.
How can a card be part of a team if the hardware is gone?
If APA is set up before the card fails, yes, the teamed network infrastructure will stay online.
Will APA let you use a dead NIC card as part of a team? Yes it probably will, I just did a setup using a LIVE NIC card. But seriously, what good would making a dead NIC part of a team do? It would not improve reliability.
Fix the NIC card first.

Re: HP APA Configuration
Thanks a lot for your answer, I give the same answer to my customer...You have to repair the lancard first, but I don't know what APA do if you create the teaming when the card is good and after that the card fail and someone reboot the server....in this case, I don't know what APA do, if starts with one lancard missing or just fail??

Re: HP APA Configuration
You need to try it out. It makes no sense to do the configuration without the LAN card working.
Since all of our NIC cards are currently working, I can't test it for you.
