Need to fasten the scp between two server in different networks

we have recently migrated from superdome 1 to superdome 2 server

between dc and dr you are using 400mbps link

now when you are trying to copy the huge amount of data  from one sd-2 to other sd-2 then its taking 2 hrs

earlier on superdome 1 it was getting copied within 20 mins

1)      We are not copying the files through traditional scp command. We are transferring through scp HPN enabled service.

2)      On destination side we run the service as below
# /opt/ssh/sbin/sshd -p 20101 -o HPNDisabled=no -o HPNBufferSize=32768 -o TcpRcvBuf=2048 -o NoneEnabled=yes

# /opt/ssh/sbin/sshd -p 20100 -o HPNDisabled=no -o HPNBufferSize=14336 -o TcpRcvBuf=2048 -o NoneEnabled=yes

3)      On source we copy as

# scp -P 20100 -o NoneEnabled=yes -o NoneSwitch=yes -o HPNDisabled=no <somelargefile> root@172.25.11.51:/phxdump15/

Is there any kernel or NDD parameter to be tuned  before running service “/opt/ssh/sbin/sshd”…?

Or any Patch or package need to be installed…?

Please Help...

Regards,

Pranay

With such a large discrepancy in transfer speeds, it sounds like one of the links has defaulted to half-duplex due to autonegotiation failure. Run this command:

lanadmin -x 0

where 0 = lan0, 1=lan1, etc. For a 1 Gbit link, the output should look like this:

# lanadmin -x 0
Speed = 1000 Full-Duplex.
Autonegotiation = On.

 If you see half-duplex, then there is a negotiation failure and the speed will be about 1 Mbit/sec.

Autonegotiatin depends on both the LAN card as well as the switch. They must match. Hardcoding the speed will almost always cause problems.

Hi,

Take a nework trace,

you will see probably packet lost.

Then you need to ckeck why and where.

If your interface is one of  iexgbe and iocxgbe publish in 2013 try

nwmgr -s -A drv_pr=off -f -c lan<ppa>

If this doesn't work, the network trace taken at  the same time at ip layer and nic layer  on the 2 sides should be analyzed by support.
