OpenVMS 8.2 FTP command stops working
We are currently running OpenVMS 8.2 on a DEC Alpha server. We have just stared having a problem where the server will no longer ftp files. All TCP/IP services are still running, and stopping and restarting the TCPIP$FTP service does not work. The only way to get FTP running again is to reboot the system.
In the TCP$IP_RUN.LOG the following error message occurs:
%TCPIP-I-FTP_CHINFO, TCPIP$FTPC00001: Failed to send data on socket
%SYSTEM-F-IVCHAN, invalid I/O channel
%TCPIP-I-FTP_NODE, client host name: 10.50.3.58
How do we solve this problem, and is there a way to get FTP running again without rebooting the system.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Re: OpenVMS 8.2 FTP command stops working
Let's start with some basic information. Please post the output of
$ TCPIP SHOW VERSION/ALL
$ TCPIP SHOW SERVICE FTP/FULL
$ SHOW SYSTEM/PROCESS=*FTP*
It may also help to see what errors (if any) you get from an FTP request back to yourself:
$ FTP 127.0.0.1
(with appropriate username and password).
