Well looks like the purchase from Dabs was a silly one...
I purchased the Netgear GA311 Gigabit PCI Adapter hoping to use it to speed up backups of a system running Redhat Linux 9.0 - However, looks like Netgear is only support the monopoly.
Well, I am not going to cancel the order because I am sure this can be resolved. I had spent over two days reading over two hundred pages on the ethernet standard and gig technology is ..... just another standard...
Hopefully I will get/write a driver for this NIC soon.

Same issue. There are no drivers for this series of card at this time.
