PPP not working
Why is it that after I have logged on to my HP Unix server through ppp, I am not able to ping or telnet to anywhere from the server? The pppd.log shows all communications are in proper order, and the netstat shows that I am logged on.
But the number of packets for incoming and outgoing is 0.

Re: PPP not working
Check the /etc/rc.config.d/netconf file. Out of the box the gatetway is commented out with the # sign. Remove the # sign, and if no one is useing the server restart the network.
/sbin/init.d/net stop
/sbin/init.d/net start
the file entry should look like this ROUTE_DESTINATION[0]=default
ROUTE_MASK[0]=""
ROUTE_GATEWAY[0]=XXX.XXX.XXX.1
ROUTE_COUNT[0]=1
ROUTE_ARGS[0]=""
/sbin/init.d/net stop
/sbin/init.d/net start

ROUTE_MASK[0]=""
ROUTE_GATEWAY[0]=XXX.XXX.XXX.1
ROUTE_COUNT[0]=1

Re: PPP not working
I assume you are connected to a modem through PPP right, is so, then what does netstat -nr show you?
what does ifconfig lan0 show,. Are you sure this box is on a network?
