Seeing Samba Share From A Windows 7 PC

I have Samba working but I am unable to find the host via Windows 7 (and Vista) Windows Explorer.
It works from an XP machine when this PC is not a member of the Windows Domain.

We have Windows SBS 2008. Suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,
Please check the directives
security (must be users)
host allow
host deny
Also check that the samba user is created on HP UX server for windows clients to map the drive.

security (must be users)... option is USER

host allow... 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0

host deny... (blank)

Also check that the samba user is created on HP UX server for windows clients to map the drive...not getting a login prompt.

Hi,
In host allow, enter the host IP of the hosts accessing the share separated with commas.
For this first select the share from SWAT interface and then update the field.

Re: Seeing Samba Share From A Windows 7 PC

Hi,

this migth be a problem with the security policies.

Under win7 go to local security policies--> local policies-->security options.

change the policy: Network security: Lan manager autentification level.
This is not defined by default.
change it to: send only ntlm answers

after changing, restart client or enter "gpupdate" on the prompt.
