Setting /etc/gettydefs to work correctly

I am trying to setup a modem for dialin access. Can get working correctly using a Baud rate of 19200, Data bits of 7, Parity of Even and Stop bits of 1.
I need to get working using Data bits of 8 and Parity of None. Have modified the /etc/gettydefs file changing CS7 to CS8 and removing PARENB. Connect's fine, but shows rublish onscreen.

Can someone please give me the correct settings?

Many Thanks,

Darren

Can you post the line from your inittab file for the modem entry along with the 19200 entry from gettydefs?

Re: Setting /etc/gettydefs to work correctly

Here is a copy of our entries and it connects fine.

19200N # B19200 HUPCL IGNPAR ICRNL IXON OPOST ONLCR CS8 CREAD
ISIG ICANON ECHO ECHOK IXANY TAB3
# B19200 SANE CS8 IXANY TAB3 HUPCL
#login: #300
Here is /etc/inittab
a0:3:respawn:/usr/sbin/getty -t 300 -h ttyd1p0 19200N

Still connects at 7 E 1. Is there somewhere else I should look.

Re: Setting /etc/gettydefs to work correctly

The only other thing I could think of would be the modem settings itself.
