Trying to remotely synch folders on two different pc

Hello all,
I have two computers running WinXP Home

Both of them can access the internet. Is there any way to configure them or have a free software that can allow me the privacy as well as the flexibility to have a shared folder between the two.

What low cost/minimal setup options are available.

If one of the O.S is Windows 2000 will things get complicated ?

Please let me know at your convenience

Have you considered the use of gmail drive?

This is a great solution short term solution.
As it is dependent on google changing its gmail policy.

I am still keeping the thread open in case people have any other options as well.
