Un-installing TCP/IP in Windows XP

I have a quick question for all you Windows XP guru???s out there. It goes something like this: Is there a way that you can actually UNINSTALL TCP/IP in Windows XP? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Evans

Within the local area connection of Network and Dial-up Connections, Uninstall.

If you have only "un-checked" the box next to the protocol, you are disabling, not not removing. To remove the protocol, you have to highlight the protocol, then click on the "Uninstall" button.

Actually you can't do that, after you select TCP/IP the uninstall button just goes away. We ended up find this on Microsoft site, http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q299357

Thanks anyways for your time.
