Hello HP,
Yesterday, users hung trying to telnet form windows application to our Unix server. We coild "ssh" ok, but telnet hung for users. Do you have any history of this type of problem?
Is there any history of any known issues with "Windows Active Directory for DNS lookups" ?
Any issues known by HP with using Microsoft DNS for reverse host name resolution.

Thanks for your support

Solution
You are correct to question the reverse lookup. It depends on how the MS DNS is setup and does it really do reverse lookups. Once the session finally works have the user issue the who -mT command and it should present the user with the FQDN name of the Windows. Then have them do the two nslookups
nslookup windows.box.name.com
Then nsllookup the IP address returned from the above command:
nslookup 123.123.12.123
They should both work and be correct.
nslookup windows.box.name.com
Then nsllookup the IP address returned from the above command:
nslookup 123.123.12.123
They should both work and be correct.
If it has wheels or a skirt, you can't afford it.
