Re: date doesnâ t sync with our ntp server
The asterisk ("*") next to the server name indicates that that server has been selected for synchronization. It takes some time for NTP to ascertain the characteristics of the time source and the correct difference between your server's time and the NTP source. Be patient.
Regards!

Re: date doesnâ t sync with our ntp server
Thank for the help.
I only it at 11am to now almost 6pm but it still doesnâ t syncâ ¦
Are you sure it need more than 1 day to sync the date within the LAN?
Still 1 hour different from the ntp device timeâ ¦
Any help is appreciated.
Thank
Chui

Re: date doesnâ t sync with our ntp server
NTP will not sync if the time difference is more than 10-15 minutes. However, as I mentioned above, if the time is off by 60 minutes (an hour), you probably have the wrong timezone set up.
What is the result of date -u?
What is the value of $TZ?
date -u shows the server's time. This time is in Zulu or UTC time (also called GMT). Look up the UTC time on the Internet like this:
http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?UTC/s/0/java
If this matches the time reported by date -u, your server is correct, but your TZ value is incorrect. Change the TZ value in /etc/TIMEZONE by using the rules in /usr/lib/tztab.
NOTE: If you are not keeping up to date on patches, your tztab file may not be accurate for your timezone. What timezone are you in?
