Re: how to change the date and time in hpunix

What does "date; date -u" show?
Does the latter show the correct UTC/GMT time?
(Now is about: Jun 7, 2010 05:28:02 GMT)
If so, your TZ setting is wrong.

You can use the date(1) command to set the time & date.

just use date command,
keep in mind about TZ as suggest by Dennis.
Do not put the date behind if your server is running oracle, you would be doomed.

WHat about NTP is it running on your environment.
#ntpq -p

If yes check its configuration and let it handle time for you.

Need more information.

Re: how to change the date and time in hpunix

Salam Abubakkar,

date [-u] [mmddhhmm[[cc]yy]]
date -u 070611302010

mm - Month number [01-12].
dd - Day number in the month [01-31].
hh - Hour number (24-hour system) [00-23].
mm - Minute number [00-59].
cc - Century minus one [19-20].
yy - Last two digits of the year number [70-99, 00-37 (1970-1999, 2000-2037)]. If omitted, the current year is used.

You can use either SAM or set_parms. e.g.

#set_parms date_time
