samba
Hi,
I have been running samba 2.0.7 on a K420 hpux server for many years and it
's been working great. However, it 's been the last couple of days, I cannot
delete files in a samba share from the window 2000 clients. Every time I
tried to delete a file, this error message popped up "Cannot delete files:
The mounted file system does not support extended attributes". I am not
sure how to fix this. Please help.
Thank you very much.

Re: samba
What's in the samba log files?
Sounds like maybe the user isconnecting as guest - and doesn't have read/write access at the Unix level...

Re: samba
Okay, you can delete - but only 1 at a time....
Sounds like more of a client issue then Samba...can you try from a different Windows machine?
Can you turn up the Logging level to say 3 in smb.conf, then restart Samba?
log level = 3
Your version of Samba is quite old...are you using Samba from source or HP's CIFS?
Most current is 3.0.7

At the least, I would upgrade to 2.2.8a
