I also heard the same thing. But was not sure.
Anyways, I shall wait for your investigation results for IPv6 targets.

I spent a little time going through the documentation and could not find any statements other than HP-UX with dual IPv4-IPv6 is supported.
As for the specific issue with swinstall, I was able to contact the team responsible for SD and was informed that IPv6-only operation would not work at this time.
Try restoring IPv4 to system A and then swlist the IPv6 address of system B. That should make it clear. Sorry that a better answer is not available yet, hopefully this can help get us some better documentation.
