xdmcp and nfs

when i stop nfs i loose the ability to use exceed (humingbird) from my desktop. I can login but then the welcome screen hangs... If i start nfs up again i have no problem using exceed. since exceed uses xdmcp i thought that someone on the listserv might know what the problem is, the people at hummingbird (now called opentext), don't really know why ???

This is some Windows system?

Where's your home directory?

Re: xdmcp and nfs

Shalom,

If your home directory is on NFS and you stop the nfsclient service on the system hosting the home directories, or nfs_server then you will have this behavior.

It is a result of your actions, if /home directory is on an NFS mount point.
