NSS Tech Tools Webinar: Technical Competitive Session (part two)

This is a recording of the NSS Tech Tools Webinar that provides a competitive analysis of secondary storage and cloud storage.

Due to the amount of material, this is part two of a two part competitive webinar series. You can view the part one recording here that focused on the competitive landscape for primary storage.

This recording covers:

  • Who are Nimble's main competitors?
  • Why does Nimble win?
  • How and when to best position Nimble's strengths?

You can view or download a pdf version of the presentation here.

Re: NSS Tech Tools Webinar: Technical Competitive Session (part two)

HI,

Thanks for supplying this. It was myself who asked the questions, but they were (all) misinterpreted during the session.

1. Other backup products - This was a question regarding technical qualification for the NSS, rather than software array integration. Essentially, can resellers who don't sell CommVault / Veeam (so push ArcServe / Rubrik  / etc) use their technical certs to qualify / stay an NSS?

2. Array replication (NCV) - This question was in relation to Slide 9 "No Ability to replicate between on-premise and cloud" as a reason not to go with AWS. In the UK we have been told that NCV *cannot* currently replicate to an on-premise array (and vice-versa) - Has this changed, or is it a US-only feature currently?

Re: NSS Tech Tools Webinar: Technical Competitive Session (part two)

Hi Nigel,

The NSS accreditation learning path follows our Solutions Integration roadmap.  Because of this, Commvault and Veeam were first.  We will explore adding additional Backup ISV's to the learning path after Nov 1st, when Nimble is fully integrated into HPE.

Re: NSS Tech Tools Webinar: Technical Competitive Session (part two)

As to your question re. NCV replication, NCV to another Nimble array based replication is a feature that is coming soon.  Your local Nimble SE team will validate this.
