Cloud Computing Moves to the Edge; OEMs Must Adapt
A recent Commscope article points out how trends in cloud computing and mobility are fundamentally transforming the data center. As cloud-based services, the Internet of Things, and mobile apps become even more pervasive, content providers and service providers are pushing data processing to the edge of the network—closer to the consumer—to boost performance and optimize quality of experience.
OEMs must adapt their solutions to support increasingly distributed cloud compute environments. As data gets pushed to the edge—to smaller, more distant facilities—factors like power and space consumption, remote management, and programmability become more and more important.
HPE has helped customers and OEMs build large-scale distributed systems for industrial automation, energy management, transportation and telecommunications for years. We understand firsthand the unique performance, reliability and manageability challenges. And we have the right products, technical resources and experience to help you deliver highly available, massively scalable, decentralized systems.
From EdgeLine IoT systems that deliver high-density compute, Big Data and analytics functionality deep in the network, to hyper-converged systems that tightly integrate compute, storage and virtualization for superior TCO, to composable infrastructure solutions like Synergy that redefine economics and service agility, HPE has the technology platforms you need to collect, store, process and analyze massive volumes of distributed data for IoT, cloud and mobile applications.
Whether you are developing solutions for manufacturing, healthcare, energy, entertainment, security or telecommunications, HPE can help you hit the ground running. Talk to your HPE account manager to learn more.
