HPE OEM Accelerating the Future of Media at Tripleplay’s Partner Conference 2017

The media & entertainment industry has gone through disruptive transformations over the last 20 years. The way in which we consume news and entertainment has changed dramatically, creating both challenges and opportunities for traditional broadcasters. Think about it: millennials spend more time streaming content than watching it on television, and more than 20 percent of them are viewing shows on their mobile devices. Streaming services are proliferate with around 60 percent of consumers using them monthly. Video-on-demand viewers in the US are expected to reach 209 million by 2021, up from 181 million in 2015.

The entertainment and media market includes film, TV, music, internet, video games, advertising, print and outdoor. The Partner Conference

Maintaining strong partnerships with resellers and integrators is crucial. HPE OEM has been working with Tripleplay for over a decade now, delivering media information to people. It is not always about connectivity. It can be the storage – and HPE OEM addresses that with some of the flash solutions with elements of Artificial intelligence (AI). It can be performance bottlenecks at the CPU level which technology partner HPE addresses with jitter smoothing, or it can be the software of course if it is not optimized for the platform it is sitting on. HPE’s partnership with Tripleplay is strong as they collaborate to address current and future demands of the user. Today there is still an app data gap in most of the things users’ experience, but the job of HPE and Tripleplay is to bridge that gap wherever possible with the right mix of technology and know-how.

Look at some of the core use cases, like asset management, cloud DVR, analytics and so forth. HPE works to address them with leading Aruba networking solutions, video optimized hardware, and software-defined workflows as well as analytics at the edge. The faster insight and ability to react to it, the better the customer experience is. HPE is now in a position to provide enterprise-class compute, right at the edge of the network. This is one of the areas where the app-data gap challenge meets head-on. In this industry, security is one of the highest priorities addressed with Gen10 servers which are the most secure industry standard servers in the world with solutions such as silicone route of trust right through the firmware up to supply chain.  Moreover, HPE OEM continues to work closely with Tripleplay on today’s technology and also what’s coming down the pipeline to ensure customers get the best quality experience at the earliest opportunity.

To support new trends in media, video delivery providers must manage their assets more closely, efficiently, and dynamically. Hybrid IT and the Intelligent Edge enables the M&E industry to succeed and profit. It is a critical differentiator and extremely valuable to both HPE and Tripleplay.
