Konica Minolta enables business flexibility with managed application platform

Konica Minolta Workplace Hub offers small and medium businesses (SMBs) a scalable, flexible, and simple IT solution that orchestrates essential business tools on a managed application platform. Supporting customers worldwide, the manufacturer prepares businesses for the future with hybrid work solutions and enhanced resources to enable growth.

“We have always been an organization with innovation at the heart of what we do.” explains Konica Minolta’s global DX branding and senior vice president, marketing, Kay Fernandez. The company has been bringing innovation to digital infrastructure for SMBs with its unique Workplace Hub portfolio since 2017. The company’s vision is to aid its customers’ innovative digital transformations. Fernandez notes, “Every company is confronted with the need to react to and leverage the dynamics of digital transformation for their business—be it efficient digital processes, collaboration, or the highest levels of security. Workplace Hub has proved to be an exceptional tool for bringing innovation directly into the office.”

Konica Minolta’s core business is in the office technology industry. It has been providing multifunction printers (MFPs) to SMB customers for decades. It’s this inherent familiarity with the SMB environment and a desire to explore new business models that led to the development of the Workplace Hub. Nick Pegley, senior vice president, Channel Sales Engagement, says, “Workplace Hub is a comprehensive application-as-a-service platform that can be tailored to the customer—including enterprise-class server hardware, operating system, and hosting business-critical applications.” Understanding that customers want choice in today’s hybrid world, Konica Minolta offers cloud and on-premises solutions that address common pain points such as security, the readiness of applications, and scalability.

With customers across the world, Konica Minolta needed a manufacturing partner with global products and services. Pegley explains, “Our customer base is global, with over 150 countries serviced, so our requirements for an OEM included a dependable partner that could offer global products and services.” HPE services ensure the on-premises Workplace Hub products remain available and flexible for the needs of each individual customer. “No matter where our customers are, they can enjoy the benefit of receiving high-quality products, services, and support provided by HPE,” says Pegley.

Workplace Hub’s compute and storage is powered by HPE ProLiant DL180 and DL380 Gen10 servers with the Intel® Xeon® Processor family delivered via HPE OEM program with the option of bundling HPE Pointnext Tech Care for turnkey IT operational services. “By working together, we can help small companies benefit from an IT infrastructure otherwise only accessible to larger companies,” notes Takayama. But beyond hardware and support, together, Konica Minolta and HPE OEM are aligned in their future-facing visions. Takayama continues, “We found HPE could not only fully fulfill our supplier requirement, but also offer a legacy of innovation and quality that matches our own goals. It’s not just our relationship today, but it’s our joint ability to execute on the vision over the coming years that makes us comfortable knowing HPE is the right partner for Workplace Hub.”
