我舊的資料庫oracle 10gR1 是在alpha vms 7.3-2上

新的機器是在rx vms 8.3上

請問rx 上的vms 可以去mount alpha vms的disk嗎

oracle datafile 可以在rx 上的instance使用嗎?

YES & YES. (只要 disk is portable between rx and alpha!)

alpha 和 rx 可共存於同一 OpenVMS Cluster.

In order to migrate an Oracle database from Alpha to Integrity, the

database must be upgraded to (or created under) Oracle 10.2 (minimum

version 10.2.0.2). If your database has not been upgraded to 10gR2,

you should do so now, before migrating to Integrity hardware.



換句話說, 必須先 upgrade 10gR1/Alpha7.3-2 至 10gR2/Alpha8.2(or 8.3), 然後再 migrate (copy) to rx.

我想這是因為 10gR2 是 rx/VMS 的第一個版本, 所以在 rx 上沒有 upgrade tools.
