All Hail Pharaoh Ron Kinner

Congratulations to Ron for achieving this lofty goal in such a short time. Ron, it's obvious from reading your posts that you've got a deep understanding of many computer concepts. What's unusual is that you seem to be knowledgeable in all areas based on where you've accumulated your points. I know I'm impressed with your achievements here in the forums and I've learned a lot from you.

Thanks and best wishes to you!

Roger

Re: All Hail Pharaoh Ron Kinner

*Congratulations, Ron!*

I certainly echo Roger's sentiments regarding this promotion. Achieving the rank of Pharaoh takes knowledge and experience, but beyond that it takes endurance. It also takes dedication to the concept of peer-to-peer problem solving, which is certainly a noble character trait.

For those people who have been fortunate enough to have Ron's help, hopefully they have appreciated his technical expertise and thoroughness. I know I have.

Roger, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Sorry Kim (and others). The great Pharaoh insists all his well-wishers be given 3 points as an token expression of the generosity with which he has dispensed invaluable technical information here for over 2.5 years.

Re: All Hail Pharaoh Ron Kinner

Thanks for the congrats everyone. I'm afraid I will not have much time for the forum for the next few months. We are moving to a new facility and I'm in charge of the move. I'm also in charge of my high school class's 40th reunion and I'm way behind on that. It's this year and I don't even have a date set yet.

Hi Ron:

Congrats again.

If you need someone to carry your toolkit during the move, I'm available.

Good luck!

Re: All Hail Pharaoh Ron Kinner

Actually, Roger, I may have to ask you if you need someone to carry your toolbox after I get this move over with. We are moving in with the competition who just bought us and plan to absorb us so there is a big question about how much longer the job will last.

Sorry to hear that. My desktop PC with all my contact information is down at the moment. Why don't you send me an e-mail so I have your e-mail address and we discuss this further without disturbing the forum folks.

Re: All Hail Pharaoh Ron Kinner

Ron,

Sorry to hear about your employment situation. That is why I left the private sector (6 years ago) and went to work for the state as a civil servant, LAN admin. The money was better previously, but there was always the chance that no matter how great an employee you are, you could be the odd-man-out in a takeover or right-sizing.

Feel free to email direct jbollyn(at)neiu(dot)edu if you need any help in the Chicago area.

Re: All Hail Pharaoh Ron Kinner

Well..... I'm floored. Congrats again Ron!

I wonder what sort of award...?

Most systems patched in the shortest amount of time?? doh! :-)

I wonder if this is for real? I found the following:

John Buscher
Server MVP Lead
Microsoft Communities Group
jbuscher@online.microsoft.com

Ok... found another reference from Maylene Kuahiwinui about nominating MS MVP's and refering to John- Looks like it's legitimate!
