Two simple ways:
1) Check in NT4 server manager
2)http://support.microsoft.com/kb/167248/en-us
"Use NET ACCOUNTS to Verify Domain Controller Role
At a command prompt, Cmd.exe, enter the following to determine the current role of a domain controller:
\NET ACCOUNTS"
