Re: BIOS password

Hi,

This is from the HP server support pages.

Clearing CMOS (BIOS) Settings and BIOS Passwords
CMOS is a chip that keeps a record of installed components when your HP e-pc is turned off. Clearing
CMOS settings may help you resolve problems such as:
├в ┬в When your HP e-pc cannot detect a device
├в ┬в When you are having problems booting the HP e-pc
├в ┬в When the HP e-pc is infected by a virus
├в ┬в If you forgot your BIOS password.
You can clear CMOS settings:
├в ┬в By using your HP e-pc├в s Setup program
(recommended method)
├в ┬в By opening your HP e-pc and clearing CMOS manually
(recommended if you cannot solve the problem by using Setup, forgot your BIOS password, or if you
want to clear the CMOS thoroughly for example, when experiencing virus problems).
Clearing CMOS Using the Setup Program
If you are able to gain access to your HP e-pc├в s Setup program, use the following simple method to clear
CMOS settings:
1 Enter the Setup program by restarting the HP e-pc and pressing F8 (when the HP logo appears) then
F2.
2 Press F9 to load Setup defaults.
3 Exit Setup, saving changes.
