BL465c G5 windows 2008 Datacenter + Hyper-V Reboots unexpectedly
This Hyper-V host server Reboots unexpectedly without any error or notification, Nothing in Event viewer too.
The ILO log says below and nothing else
"Server reset"
"Server power restored"
"Server reset"
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
This is a c7000 HP Blade encl with 13 Servers in it and remaining all Servers are working normal.
Hyper-V is updated to the Latest Patch KB950050
Thanks
HF

Re: BL465c G5 windows 2008 Datacenter + Hyper-V Reboots unexpectedly
Did you ever get this issue resolved? We are having the same issue with 2 BL465c G5 blades with VMWare on them. Same errors as you did in the ILO...
Any insight you can provide is greatly appreciated-
Dan

Re: BL465c G5 windows 2008 Datacenter + Hyper-V Reboots unexpectedly
Later we moved on to a DL380 G5 and it is running fine for a while now,
Some suggestions which i found in googling are,
Disable ASR in Bios,
Update all the Firmwares to Latest (i.e Server ROM, iLO to 1.78, OA to 2.52, Virtual Connect to 2.10, HP agents for ESX - 8.20/8.25, and any other controller f/w on the server.

Re: BL465c G5 windows 2008 Datacenter + Hyper-V Reboots unexpectedly
We think we might have found the cause...our onsight HP tech found the following link. We use VMWare, not Hyper-V, but either way the problem seems to be the same...
http://communities.vmware.com/thread/164844
Basically, it points to being a bad batch of memory. We've replaced it on 1 of our 2 problem hosts, and so far no outages on the 1 host. We'll wait another week to see if it happens on the 'good' host now...
Thanks again-
