Eternal loop using Hp original restore cd set (no scratches, new harddrive)

Is there a way to find out on the restore cd's if I'm using the right restore set for the correct machine? I have several hp's and although the set goes to my 7915 (7cd set) it goes on an eternal loop asking for Cd#1 as soon as it's done with #7....

The harddrive is new but we've tried the restore on three other drives and it's the same thing. This is a pavilion 7915 and i'm a tech (kind of embarrassing having to even post here but....I .... I just CAN'T be the only one asking this sort of question can I be?
