Re: Freeing up more space so computer won't lock and will go to the next screen faster
is there a system administrator for your computer?
being a new user it is advised you contact the the appropiate administrator.
if one is not available, do you know what files should be removed?
assuming your system is unix based, it is recommended you back up any target
files before you remove them.
one thing you can do is check file system size to see if this really is the
reason for your problem.
try the df command or bdf command (check the man pages for further info). if
any file systems are in the 90% range then removing files would be a
possiblity.
to remove files you can use the rm command with the -i option, BE VERY CAREFUL
with this command, it can be dangerous if not sure what you are doing!!!
again read the man pages to learn more.
regards,
bill

Re: Freeing up more space so computer won't lock and will go to the next screen faster
I found it to be great for getting rid of un-wanted files, duplicate files,
dead or unused files, and a lot more.
You can also go to the following(which helps some);
start,prorgrams,windows exploror,/ scroll down to "windows" , click in windows,
and scroll down to
temp files.and also temporary internet files.
Do the following;
In temp files, you can delete anything that has ( TEMP) next to it.That goes to
recycle, then delete it from there.
Next / go to the temporary internet files, and delete all of it. Just
highlight the first one and hold the shift key down. it will highlight all, and
then click on delete button. If you have a lot of files in this, do a small
amount at a time.
This will help get rid of a lot of dead space ,and do some free - up.
Good luck .

Re: Freeing up more space so computer won't lock and will go to the next screen faster
up all the time, you've got bigger problems than
freeing up space. If this is a PC you will get better
answers in the PC forums.
