Re: HP PS2 keyboard (2K - 3)
To resolve this issue, remove (uninstall) Adobe Type Manager.
To do so, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.
2. Under Currently installed programs, click Adobe Type Manager, and then click Change/Remove.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
4. Restart your computer.
This issue may occur if Adobe Type Manager is installed on your computer. Certain versions of Adobe Type Manager (version 4.0, for example) may not be compatible with the power management features of Windows XP.

Balaji A.

Re: HP PS2 keyboard (2K - 3)
Is this options are enabled?
click Start / Settings / Control Panel
double-click Power Options icon
click Hibernate tab and select the Enable hibernate support check box
if the tab is not there, W2K does not support the feature on your hardware, bios, or whatever. The same dialog box show free disk space and required space to store memory. If it is missing, check for a newer bios for the motherboard.
click Apply
You can also check:
Click Start and Shut Down,
Point the standby button and maintain the shift key pushed,
A new hibernation button appears: click it while still holding the shift key: voila your PC will hibernate.
Hope this helps!

Re: HP PS2 keyboard (2K - 3)
Adobe Type Manager is a different program than Adobe Acrobat (now called Adobe Reader, I believe). If you have the full (not free) version of Adobe Acrobat, I suppose it may include Adobe Type Manager but you should be able to determine that from your Programs list. Please let us know what OS (XP, 2000, 98, etc.) you are using, otherwise we're shooting in the dark to some extent.
BTW, if you're running the free Adobe Acrobat, version 7 is available for download at www.adobe.com as Adobe Reader.
There is a newer driver available here (as well as original drivers, BIOS updates, etc.):

Re: HP PS2 keyboard (2K - 3)
It is a known issue that when you place ur computer in standby mode, it says:
The PS2 Keyboard (2k-3) device is preventing the machine from entering standby.
To resolve the issue please uninstall Adobe Type manager from your computer. Uninstalling Adobe Type manager will not affect the Adobe Acrobat reader application, Adobe Type manager is used for font management.
Try uninstalling it and restart the computer and the put the computer in standby mode and check the results.
