Installing Server 2008 R2 on DL380 Gen9 fails
I have tried to install Server 2008 R2 on a DL380 Gen9 server but during the finalization of the install the server crashes and in the IML I see the error:
Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception (Board 0, Processor 1, APIC ID 0x00000000, Bank 0x00000011, Status 0xBE200000'000C110A, Address 0x00000000'80C01000, Misc 0x04FC3816'00402086)
I have followed the recommendation to disable UEFI Optimized Boot.
I have used 2 different images of Server 2008 R2, one downloaded from MS and the MD5 sum verified. The other is our coroprate image we use. I have installed from USB, DVD and through the iLO, always the same result
The latest SPP has been applied.
HP came out and replaced the CPU and the motherboard.
Server 2102 R2 installs with no issues.
I am replacing my backup server and need to stay at the same level as the version on the 2003 R2 server. Unfortunetly the newer versions supported on 2012 R2 are not supported on 2003 R2. So I can't upgrade my backup software version until I am running on 2008 R2.
