Re: M820 PC connetion

This product is designed to connect to a laptop using a PCMCIA card and a special data cable. See http://www.hp.com/cposupport/information_storage/support_doc/lpg40962.html

Based on the information at http://www.hp.com/cposupport/information_storage/support_doc/lpg40965.html ,
it seems like you ought to be able to connect the drive to a desktop PC SCSI Host Adapter but I don't know definitively if you can or cannot. (You didn't indicate whether your computer has PCMCIA slots or not.)

Sorry, after I wrote the above, I found this:

http://www.hp.com/cposupport/information_storage/support_doc/lpg40961.html
which clearly states that you can attach to PCMCIA OR SCSI!
and gives a description of the SCSI cable required. Also, see http://www.hp.com/cposupport/information_storage/support_doc/lpg40970.html

If you need the PCMCIA cable, your best bet is to go to the following link, click on continue and call the phone number listed there so HP can tell you the part number and how to order one.

Good luck!
Make a great day!

Re: M820 PC connetion

It really only requires an IDE cable.

You only need a SCSI 2 D50 on the CD side and whatever you have as the SCSI conector on the PC
