Simpler Navigation for Servers and Operating Systems - Please Update Your Bookmarks
Completed: a much simpler Servers and Operating Systems section of the Community. We combined many of the older boards, so you won't have to click through so many levels to get at the information you need. Check the consolidated boards here as many sub-forums are now single boards.

Re: NTLDR file

This is a common error message if you leave a floppy in your drive, as KenE suggested. However, it's not the only thing that can cause this message. Check the following link (I know it's for 2000 but it should apply for XP as well, in theory):

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;318728

and see if that helps any (it basically says, update your bios and then if that doesn't work, create a boot disk with ntldr, ntdetect.com and boot.ini on and copy them across to your system partition).
