Notebook Start up

Hello,

I am having a problem with my laptop. I get an error message PXE-161 Media Test Failure. Check Cable. The computer hardly starts up. Maybe 1 out of 50 trys. Is there anything I can do to correct this problem?

system is trying to boot from the LAN card or any such devies. Go to CMOS and make the first boot device as your hard disk
